A resurgent Daniil Medvedev secured his maiden title for nearly 30 months with victory over opponent Moutet in the competition title decider.

The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has had a torrid period, managing just a single victory at the big events and suffering a difficult moment at the US Open.

The player's inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and issues with his serve in specific - caused him dropping out of the world's top 10 and finally splitting with long-time mentor his previous coach.

Currently training with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has steadily advanced in the last few weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought three-set victory over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.

This marks Medvedev's first trophy since the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hardcourt since spring of 2023.

Success also indicates he has secured 21 championships at 21 distinct events.

"This marks the first occasion I have attended a event with my both daughters simultaneously, so to win a trophy is particularly special," commented tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This championship is in dedication of my younger daughter her name, because the initial championship I achieved when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."

The tennis star, the former major winner, had failed in his last six title deciders, comprising in the German tournament previously this season.

The player's counter-punching play style and regular outbursts on the tennis court had caused commentators to wonder if his ability to play at the elite level was concluded.

However the athlete has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, striving to come to the net and perform assertively, supported by an better serve.

Medvedev came back from a deficit in the initial set against the challenging Moutet, securing 4 of the final five points to gain the advantage.

The pair traded break points in the second set before the challenger, bidding for his first professional title, took control to push for a third set.

The opponent saved 4 early-game break points in a tight third set before the Russian won the break to fifteen to serve for the match.

Fittingly, the winner earned victory with a shot at the front of the court, with his opponent unable to manage a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
