2K Brings Onboard Apex Legends Producer to Revitalize Challenged Hero Shooter Project Ethos

The renowned publisher has appointed a seasoned producer from the creators of Apex Legends to direct the development team at 31st Union, which is currently developing the anticipated third-person roguelike extraction-shooter known as this innovative game.

Leadership Transition Follows Lukewarm Reception

The new appointee steps into the role of studio head at the development studio following the dismissal of former leader Michael Condrey, who was reportedly let go due to the game's underwhelming initial reveal last fall.

Recently, 2K president David Ismailer updated team members about this organizational change through an official communication, which emphasized that playtesting had revealed the necessity for a distinct vision.

Ismailer stated that the developers is now refining the project with a renewed vision, aiming to better meet gamer demands.

A Pattern of Strategic Hires

The news follows a similar action taken by the publisher in August, when they hired Rod Fergusson from the Diablo team to assist with the BioShock studio Cloud Chamber.

Here is the full text from the president's memo:
